By JP.jpg

Dr. Dari, trained in Crops, Soils, and Environmental Sciences, brings extensive interdisciplinary expertise in climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture. His work focuses on providing research-based solutions for natural resource management, soil health and fertility improvement, efficient farm input use, precision agriculture, and data-driven decision-making. He promotes sustainable crop production systems that optimize the use of soil, nutrients, water, and crop residues to maximize productivity while safeguarding environmental quality, including soil, water, and air. His extension and outreach program is aimed at improving the environment, conserving natural resources, enhancing crop production, and boosting the societal economy. Through integrated outreach programs, he supports environmental stewardship, resource conservation, improved crop productivity, and stronger rural economies. Dr. Dari works across disciplinary boundaries, linking research, policy, socio-economic factors, and community engagement with experience spanning North Carolina, the southeastern U.S., and international contexts, including India.

He has a strong record of collaborative, team-based science across diverse agroecosystems in states such as Florida, Idaho, Oregon, and North Carolina, working with cereal, vegetable, and specialty crop systems under varied irrigation practices. Currently, he leads and contributes to major initiatives funded by USDA programs, including Renewable Resource Extension Act (RREA), AFRI Bioeconomy projects, and ORG and OREI, as well as NRCS Conservation Equity Grant. Dr. Dari is committed to advancing organic and sustainable agriculture by promoting practical, science-based soil health practices that enhance productivity, strengthen environmental resilience, and support equitable access to sustainable farming systems.
